The University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management offers an intensive six-month graduate certificate program in hospitality management for international students who have earned bachelor’s degrees in the fields of Hospitality or Business. Program participants will earn 12 graduate credit hours: 9 from course work and 3 from successfully completing an internship with the Walt Disney World® Resort.
The certificate program has two intakes annually, spring and fall:
• Spring cohort/group runs from mid-January to mid-July
• Fall cohort/group runs from mid-July to mid-January
Qualifications
• Completed bachelor’s degree in Hospitality/Tourism or Business
• The degree must be completed prior to the intake’s application deadline
• If you are from a country where English is not the official language, evidence of English language proficiency

**Please note there are no exceptions as these are the only majors that include the pre-requisite classes needed for UCF Graduate enrollment. Candidates can submit their transcripts for review by UCF prior to paying for/submitting an application.
How Many Classes Will A Student Take?: 4 Courses which includes an Internship Course (12 Credit Hours)

HFT 6245 – Managing Hospitality & Guest Services Organization (3 credit Hours) Analysis of the unique problems of managing organizations in hospitality and guest services industry.

HFT 6533 Hospitality/Tourism Industry Brand Mgmt (3 Credit Hours) This elective course will introduce graduate students to critical topics, both theoretical and applied, that demonstrate why brands are important to consumers of hospitality and tourism services and, consequently, for the successful management of hospitality and tourism corporations
HFT 6596 – Strategic Marketing for Hospitality and Tourism (3 Credit Hours) An examination of the role of marketing strategy within the overall strategic planning process of hospitality/tourism organizations. Topics such as marketing environments, competition analysis, consumer behavior, product/service mix, differentiation, segmentation, target marketing, positioning, relationship marketing, and strategic alliances are studied and analyzed

What Hours Are Spent in Classroom? :
3 hours per class; 3 Separate 8-week Courses – minimal overlap
What Day Will Classes Be Held On?: Friday only
What Positions Can the Candidates Be Placed In and What is the Max Number of Hours Scheduled?:
Rotating (QSR, Merch and Operations) &
Non-Rotating (Hospitality/Concierge) Roles; 37.5 hours per week except during peak periods.
Overall Cost of the Program:
Program Cost: $3800, insurance not included (Note: Usual Out of State Tuition is $754 per credit hour). Payment is due prior to arrival.
Application Cost: $30.00
TOEFL Exam Cost: Approx. $185
Visa Fee: Candidate is responsible. Cost varies per country.
SEVIS Fee: Candidate is responsible. $200 (For all Countries)
Will a Candidate Need to Purchase Books on top of the $3800 Tuition?
No. UCF will provide academic materials which is included in the tuition payment. Transportation is also included. Meals are not included.
Is Medical Insurance Required on an FI Visa?
Yes. It is a requirement of both the visa and the UCF.
Can Students Get Their Own insurance?
Students must purchase group insurance through the UCF provider
If No, How Much Does the Insurance Cost?
Approx. $400. Insurance can be paid before the day of arrival (preferred) or on the day of arrival.
Will Students Have Consecutive Days Off?
Days off could be consecutive or split.
What if a Student is Terminated from WDW, Can They Continue with the UCF Graduate Program?
Yes, however, the student will need to find his/her own housing and transportation. No refunds will be provided.
Does the Candidate Need to Bring Their Computer?
Because these courses are considered Mixed Mode and as a result, require online work, it is highly encouraged that each candidate brings his/her own laptop.
Can a Student Miss Class?
Students will not be dropped from of the program for missing class. Nor will they be in violation of their F1 Visa. With that said, however, students will be graded on participation. Therefore, it is unlikely they will graduate with a 3.0 which is required for the certificate & credit transfer.
How Many Hours of Out-Of-Class Coursework Will Be Necessary to Be Successful In the Program?
Approx. 3-6 hours per class.
